Spring Forest Bathing Workshop
Join us for a free introductory workshop on forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) at Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve. Learn the basics of this Japanese practice, walk through the forest with a certified guide, and discover how slowing down in nature can reduce stress and improve wellbeing. Open to all ages and fitness levels. No registration required.
QBN Community Nature Meetup
Our monthly community meetup brings together nature lovers, wellness seekers, and outdoor enthusiasts from across the Birmingham metro. This month we're meeting at Railroad Park for a group walk, followed by a casual picnic and conversation about upcoming QBN events. Bring a dish to share if you'd like. New members especially welcome!
Guided Bird Walk at Ruffner Mountain
Join Alabama Audubon for a free guided bird walk through Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve. Expert birders will help you identify spring migrants, resident songbirds, and raptors. Binoculars available to borrow. All skill levels welcome, from complete beginners to experienced birders. Part of our monthly Nature@Noon series.
Cahaba River Cleanup Day
Roll up your sleeves for a morning of hands-on river conservation along the Cahaba River. Volunteers will remove litter, clear invasive plants, and help restore riparian habitat. Bags, gloves, and supplies provided. Afterward, enjoy a guided nature walk led by Cahaba River Coalition naturalists. All skill levels and ages welcome. Community service hours available for students.
QBN Virtual Wellness Circle
Join our monthly virtual wellness circle from anywhere. This month's theme is 'Nature Connection in Daily Life' — learn practical techniques for bringing the benefits of nature therapy into your everyday routine, even if you live in the city. Guided meditation, group discussion, and nature journaling prompts included.
Full Moon Sound Bath at Aldridge Gardens
Experience a magical outdoor sound bath under the full moon at Aldridge Gardens. Crystal singing bowls, chimes, and gongs create a deeply healing soundscape as you lie beneath the stars surrounded by 30 acres of woodland gardens. Bring a yoga mat and blanket. This monthly event has become a beloved Birmingham tradition.
Trail Stewardship Day at Red Mountain Park
Help maintain and improve the trail systems at Red Mountain Park! Volunteers will assist with trail maintenance, invasive species removal, and habitat restoration. No experience necessary — tools and guidance provided. A great way to give back to Birmingham's green spaces while spending a morning outdoors. Community service hours available.
QBN Community Fund Benefit Dinner
A farm-to-table fundraiser dinner supporting the QBN Community Fund, which provides scholarships for underserved communities to access ecotherapy experiences. Enjoy a locally sourced meal prepared by Birmingham chefs, live music, and a silent auction featuring guided experiences donated by QBN guides and hosts. All proceeds go directly to the Community Fund.
